Canon 7D with 24-70mm f/2.8 L @ 57mm, 1/500 sec, f/8, ISO 100Saturday was a cold but beautiful day so we decided to head into the Houston city. Thought it was a good chance to test out my new 24-70 and B + W polariser! Haven’t really done much architecture photography but I quite like this one. So far I am very impressed with the results coming from both of these pieces of equipment. Let me know what you think.
For the last week I’ve been in Houston Texas. A tree outside where I’m staying had some very colourful leaves that were due to fall. I really like this shot as it captures the true Autumn colours of what I witnessed. Very minimal post processing was performed.
Today I picked up my new Canon 24-70mm so keep checking back to see some new photos taken with this new lens.
I hadn’t used my Canon 10-22mm in a while so I decided to take it out the other evening. Went to the usual spot up at Trigg. To be honest, it was quite different going from almost only shooting with my fixed 50mm to shooting the 10-22mm on my Canon 7D!
In a couple weeks I’ll be travelling to the U.S for around 2 months with 8 days in Hawaii so I’m getting ready for that! Will be picking up the 24-70 in the states along with some new filters.

Here’s another shot from my Cottesloe shoot. I quite like the light in this one, but I’m not really sure about the trees in the foreground! Tried some new techniques in this one including some new ways of focusing. Again not much done post processing wise therefore I quite like the image.
This was a 6 image stitch again on the Canon 7d with 50mm f/1.4

The last image I took like this from scarborough was quite a hit so I’d thought I give it another go! This was taken the other night down at Cottesloe.
It’s a single image taken on the 7d with canon 10-22mm. Not sure if this one is as exciting as the other, but I still really like it! I got some other shots from the night so please stayed tuned.

Went out on Saturday evening to try and get some pictures at Cottesloe. Just as I arrived and got all my gear ready, it started to rain…So I waited about 20 minutes for it to settle then continued on. While shooting the tea rooms just as the sun was setting I turned behind and saw some nice vegetation on the dunes I could shoot.
I really like this one, first off not a lot was done post processing wise so it’s quite natural. Some people might say it’s a bit boring, ie; there’s no subject, but thats part of why I like it! Just some simple dune reeds looks good I think. The movement shown in the reeds shows the weather conditions that evening perfectly; windy. The wind was picking up as time progressed. I got some more pics of Cottesloe which should be up so stayed tuned.

The results to the International Photo Awards were released last night and I was awarded 3rd place in the Non-pro Moving image category.
I was quite stoked with this result as the standard looked pretty high with some amazing images being showed. The judging panel was also great to read through as there were some pretty big names in there. Over 15,000 entries spanning worldwide were entered throughout the categories.
I saw some other names while scrolling through the categories, James Knight-Smith took out 2nd place in the Non-pro Landscape with another series of his unique style of imagery. Alex Wise also placed 2nd in the Sunset category.

Went down to Marmion/Trigg last night for a shoot but didn’t really get anything besides this one. I thought the colour of the sea weed against the other rocks was pretty interesting. It’s just a single shot with the 7d with the 50mm f/1.4. Hope you like it
